This weekend i bought a bike, a 2003 Yamaha R6. i feel kinda sad that i had to use my money for the Novi Mongoose kit in order to buy the bike, but being a college student, driving a 400hp beast to and from school wasnt practical. but no worries, i still have the stang sitting right next to my bike in the parking lot waiting to be used on dates and days when a/c is essential. plus now i can keep the milage down, not to mention the money saved on gas :) but any comments are welcome, even though i expect :nonono: and:nono:

i once read an article on here about a guy that was fed up with being beat by ls1's and what he could do to make his stang faster. at the end of his thread he stated that none of the chevy's would even look at hime twice when he was on his bike...now i kno that feeling as well :D

Bike > blown stang any day of the week.

Just make sure you have suffcient gear and congrats :D. I'm still saving for a f4i and a place to hide it from my parents

lol, i was in the same boat for 2 years. parents said i would be on the streets if i got a bike, but i moved away for college...and guess what???

f4i's are very nice. i was stuck between those and the R6 for a long time, but i i have always been a foe to the hondas....for obvious reasons:rolleyes:

but this bike is pretty good from 4k-8k, but after 8k it just wants to rip away from you. i have never felt power like this.

P.S. the guy i bought it from put the lower gear sprocket with intake and exhaust, so it has a little more umph in the lower RPM's

-2 +1? might have been a stunt bike.

why do you say it might have been a stunt bike??

i was thinking that too, but when i saw it, body parts were stock, matched, and the guy was an amature also who claimed he never had the guts to try any of the stunts. i checked everything, seals, shocks, etc. and everything lined up and nothin leaked. frame was strait, and it came with 2 helmets, 2 sets of gloves, a jacket, and set of boots. plus the guy had kids and only put on 4600 miles in 3+ years. it seemed like a good deal to me:shrug:

I just recently bought a bike as well...a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 750 blue and white carbon fiber accessories with Yoshimura RS-3 slip on. Bikes dont compare to cars speed or acceleration wise it is a whole different ball game. They are very fun but i still love driving my stang because they are completely different feelings.

About it being a stunt bike the biggest thing i see on them is the bigger sprocket for better down low torque to pull up wheelies in first. Your bike will accelerate faster through the gears but lose a lot of top end just like 4:10s in a mustang.

Also you can tell by the rear tire how hard it was ridden if the wear is pretty far over on the tire. Mine when i bought it wasnt but now its worn to the sidewalls:nice:

But congrats on the R6 they are very nice bikes.

I did the same thing a few years ago and bought a GSX-R 600. Totally different than the stang, but lots of fun.

However, don't be like me and sell the stang in lieu of the bike...and then a few months after that sell the bike as well...and be pissed off that you went from 2 great machines to none....its all good now...I am back in the saddle with a Stang...won't make that mistake again...

im the same way, my car just sits now i think i had it out two times this summer and that was when the bike was in the shop. it is just too much fun.

turbo busa makes me have funny feelings . :D

congrats be safe. Although having the sprockets changed doesn't mean alot to me. You said 2 sets of gloves and what not odds are he toted his wife/gf/whatever and the r6 is lacking in lowrpm grunt. Might've geared it just so it was easier to ride with a passenger on the back, I know I did when I rode 600's.
PS. Trust me gear up for ever ride.

nice you wont be dissappointed with the r6 its a great bike it was actually my 2nd choice in bike but i had to get 1 up on the all the other 600s and i bought a 2006 kawasaki zx6r i had to get the bigger motor and its also fun to run into that gixxer 750 every now and then and just let them know whats up with the 636:D

wll the rear tire still has the stock tire it came off the floor with. the sides look brand new, but down the middle its worn pretty bad. but 4700 miles on the factory tire i think is pretty good...but then i dont kno a whole lot about bikes.

how do i post pics??? i tried once but it just came up as a icon that couldnt be opened...the file is a JPEG

thanks for all the support :nice:

Im in the same boat over here... after 4 months of hearing it from my parents i went ahead and bought a 2002 f4i.... best decision of my life.

I love my stang and all but the bike is a total different ball park, i love rippin the people who beat me in the car on my bike haha...

i have a problem though... im getting bored with a little 600cc already and its only been 2 months.. haha .. anyway heres some pics....

and if u say the sides of the tire look brand new then the guy who had it couldnt ride....... the entire tread should be worn if he knew how to ride......thats a good thing for u though... u know he prob babied it....even though u can run these things between 12-14k constantly without any damage haha...imports....
