for those of you with bikes, is it normal to hear kinda loud valve train noise, kinda like vlave chatter on a honda motor???

i checked all the fluid levels and it all checked out good, and the guy said he had the first service with the valve adjustment done already, and the bike only had <5000 miles

i love the sound of my yoshi pipe also. the bike came with flush mounts, integrated blinkers in the LED tail light, frame sliders (in perfect cond.) K&N filter and the carbon fiber yoshi pipe. along with the equipment i estimate i saved a few grand

the f4i's are known to make some noise between like 4-6k maybe but i think they say its the timing chain....as far as valves and noises all the time id get that checked out..... but thats a clean looking bike....

my sisters bf is getting a new cbr 1000rr in the spring... cant wait to try that oout....haha

ya, i have been riding dirtbikes since i was 10

this is a bit different from dirbikes, so i am kinda unsure about some things.

i only hear the noise loud between 3-5k, then it kinda goes away.

yea dont worry about it then its prob the timing chain... no biggy...

you the same as me i was all dirt bikes and quads since i was like 10... bike is different but give it a month, it will fell like an 80cc dirtbike.... just dont push ur limits too quick or you'll find yourself in some trouble..... youll be pullin it up doin 60 before u know it and be burning out just like its a stang..haha one bit of advice... get a adjustable steering stabilizer

haha, ya five days into it and i am already almost on the ground going through corners. the first night i was on the freeway doing 110....yur right, i will probably get myself into trouble...but at least i wont have any problems at the CHP riding test for my license

yea its normal to hear the valves ticking as long as its not insanely loud then you have a problem. My 636 does the same thing but its not very loud but is noticeable. Your first valve adjustment should come around 12k.

I dont know if i posted this on here or not but i went out to hang out with my buddy who was riding dirtbikes last weekend and he just bought a new crf450 and well we ended up racing with me on the 636 and went from a 10mph roll on a private road cause we know the developer of this land so it was all closed off to just us. And let me just say it wasnt pretty for the 450 even in low end he got powned and i wasnt even in it half throttle and shifted early. And some tard at the honda dealer told me a 450 would walk my 636 in the 1/4 (oh and im not just tellin you guys it was a private road just to get off for street racing it really was a private road that was closed off lol.)

But be careful man my buddy who now has the crf450 is on house arrest because his 600rr got him in some trouble. He pulled a wheelie by a cop the cop turned around and he ran and ended up getting caught he is charged with a felony until the court date so we will see if he gets lucky and they drop it.

i just got back from the dealer and they said they didnt hear anything abnormal, so ima just ride it till i hear a change.

well the hell of it is that in our county cops arent allow to chase you anymore after 1 mile for bikes only lol and he actually went .9 miles and then stopped at a truck station and hide behind a truck and thats where he was caught. so basically a dumb move by him i told him crap if you already commited to run you might as well give that officer a run for his money. But he basically just turned 18 so hopefully the judge sees that and drops it down to a misdemeanor.

Just becareful man take it step by step dont try anything ur not ready for such as wheelies those come later. The way i started was when i first cracked into the gas hard and the front end just lifted lol and it felt awesome so then i just practiced.

most stangs cant play with bikes off the line but after about 40 it doesnt seem to differant. I love to see the look on there face when they simply cant pass you. There so sure that you dont have a chance and then he never leaves the rear view

Ran a guy a month ago from about 40-120 then again from 50-130 he stayed just behind my rear tire. Pulled up next to me at the next light and said "Nice run, next time I'll take it out of 3rd." Told him, "Thats ok, if it looked like you could have passed me I would have hit the nitrous." I'm sure he was just as full of shht as i was. Bout emptied the tank on him

musta been a ****ty bike or rider u saw..... my 600 f4i is supposed to run a 10.7 stock ??? and from my experience no car stands a chance???? and ive run my friends 412rwhp 5.0 from various speeds with no problem?

it should be kinda the other way around...

a stang has WAY more torque than a bike, so it should jump it, then after 8000rpm(on a 600cc) the bike will fly past. i think a built FI stang is the only thing that would run with us. oh and that one guy(sorry i cant remember is name) with the 10.__second N/A car. that car is sweet...

yea my bike would eat my stang alive even from a 5 roll lol. heck my bike half throttle shifting at around 10 would still eat up my car. But yea no way a stang would hang with a bike with just a few boltons. FI it all depends on whats done and the boost levels of the stang basically it would need 500rwhp to hang with a bike. Heck my bike is suppose to run a 10.38 at 135 stock its actually .3 sec away from an 05 busa which is insane but the busa traps 12mph higher lol.

oh and i just noticed that you sprayed against him it would probably take much more than a 100 shot to win against a bike you might pull intially cause of the torque of the nitrous but heck once that bike is in 3rd its over my bike in 2nd does an indicated 105 at the shift light and then shift 3rd and im doing a good 125 which is also indicated its probably around 115 or so. roll races are just based on simple power to weights and a 600 with say a 140lb rider would be somewhere around 4lbs per hp. and ur stang on nitrous is prob more in the 8lb per hp

wish i would had looked to see what kind of bike it was. My heart was just racing a bit and my stock brakes faded extremely bad and had to down shift pretty hard to get the car to slow. but the guy was probably pushing 200lbs. Looked like most of the crotch rockets ive seen nothing special and wasnt bigger then a 750 if that im pretty sure. Was just the first time ive acually had some one on a bike willing to play. I've been wanting to see if i could stay with one. I just remember when i was younger (10-12 years ago) a guy had told me that there isnt that much of a differance once you get upto speed.

As I've said before, it really depends on what bike you are racing against as well as who is riding it. A few years back, bikes were fairly quick but they had really bad aerodynamics so they would run out of steam trying to push themselves once the speeds increased so that a fast car could reel them in in top speed but that is no longer the case, even the little 600's are nipping at 170mph with the bigger bikes pushing the 200mph mark [at least before they were factory speed limited to 186mph but that can be easily fixed ]. Also a sportbike is tough to launch in stock trim as they wern't designed for strictly 1/4 racing but with a few suspension adjustments they can be very quick. I once spent an afternoon beating up on two Busa's, an R1 and a ZX12R with my friends little Yamaha R6, they were completly baffled. We didn't bother telling them that that's what I used to do for a living Cycle World tested the Kawasaki ZX6 and managed a 10.84@129 and 0-60mph in 2.73 seconds before handing the bike over to Ricky Gadson [pro drag racer] who went out and cut a 10.16@131mph. Next he took the Yamaha R6 and ran a 9.93@135.05mph besting Cycle Worlds time by a full second. In other words, the bikes have the power, they just need someone who knows how to ride it.

So i bought a bike...
