ok so i decided to start my car today it had been about a month since the last time i did it, and well since it was nice out i pulled it out of the garage. well when i got it out of the garage i noticed there was a small puddle of oil where it had been parked, i never noticed it leaking oil prior to me storing it for the winter, also there was a decent amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. is this stuff normal for storing cars in colder climates.

probably ok. did you change the oil right before you put it up?? I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If the car is hi mileage you might expect to see a small amount of smoke after it has been sitting for a while. The oil on the floor is more of a problem, you need to find out where it is coming from then come back and let us know what you found...

No. It's not normal for your car to leak oil just cause your storing it. I use to live in Iowa and stored my Mustang for the winter, and it never leaked a drop or smoked ever.

Smoke is normal. It's condensation inside the exhaust from sitting so long. It may also be black or rust colored if the condensation pools slightly and rusts due to the long sitting time.

I've stored my cars over the winter plenty of times, always happens to me.

As for the leak, i dunno really.
