So many brakes to choose from!

In an effort to be able to stop the convertible with less drama, I have begun collecting parts for my 5-lug swap. I'll need some modern binders very shortly... I have read all of the internet sites on what is required to complete the swap. I am more interested in which setup to pick (COBRA or PBR in front and then what to do out back)

Things I have decided on thus far:

Wheels 17x8 2003 Cobra rims
SN95 (non cobra) spindles

Things I think I am sure on:

1994 MC and Booster?
Misc parts from MM (prop valve, lines, etc.)
SN95 length axles out back

Now the tuff part for me:

Run 13" rotors up front with a SN setup out back? Or the PBR setup in front and 10.5" rotors out back? Or build my own cobra setup? Now throw in the offerings from SSBC & Baer. Can anyone help me out because I have done enough research to confuse myself completely.....

Looks great with those wheels. I think you should go with the Cobra calipers (PBR) 13" disc for the front, rear up to you (10.5 is fine), 94-95 cobra MC and booster is up to you if you want to change. You can keep that booster with the 94-95 cobra MC. Perhaps a more challenging decision will be if you want to run the sn axles (bringing each side out .75") or maintain your rear stock track width. Do you intend to roll the fender lips on the rear and what size tire will you put back there?

The tires shouldn't get any wider than 245/45/R17 as I don't think I will need much for than that for spirited drives in the country.

Rolling the lip is an option, but one that I am trying to avoid since I will not be running a very wide tire and the car will probably not get lowered.

I think I want to run the SN length axles to push the tires out that extra little bit. But this might mean rolling the lips (?)

I have SN95 Axles and 245s out back and the car is slightly lowered and there is still plenty of room.

So I think I have a direction:

Front
13" rotors
PBR cobra calipers up front
mounting hardware / hoses

Rear
SN length axles
SN rear disks

Now I just need to pick up more and more parts for the winter.

Those rims look awesome on the car, srothfuss.

SN95 length axles with SN95 rims look great on our cars. I'm running 245s out back and they look perfect. Pics in my sig, on my site.

Thanks for the complements. The red stripe [running through my molding] and clear corners will probably also be done this winter. It's coming along but I am no where near close to finishing....

I think it looks great in a solid color (i'm bias towards that though!) and the headlights look awesome either way.

The final goal is to have a killer driving car. Nothing show fancy or super detailed. Just a very nice looking (dare I say understated) convertible that I can drive everyday to and from work if need be. Oh and it needs to be extreamly fun on the streets.

The motor is underway right now... But I would like to keep the wraps on that until it's finished in case I split the block... Or I blow the T-5...

The brakes / wheels we know of now.

I would like to respray the car in the same color since some of the tints (from prior patch jobs) do not match and there are some door dings I need taken care of.

The interior needs new carpet and seats (front and rear)

I am very sure there will be bumps along the way and it'll never really get finished but at least I have a vision of what the car will be after some hard work and a few cold winters in the garage

The only thing you need to make that car look even more menacing (or should i say sadistic) would be a nice FMIC peeking out from behind your bumper cover... not a fake one, but actually having a purpose for having one and that thing... wow...

Are the cobra rims you're getting 17x8 for sure? OEM are 17x9, and most aftermarket rims I see are 17x9". If they are indeed 17x9, I would reccomend getting stock-length axles as they seem to fit better (I'm doing the same wheel set-up on my GT if I ever get the cash to finish it). I would highly reccomend the new MC and Booster as it seems to be crucial when swapping to rear discs. People also say that stainless-steel braided lines are a must-have because foxes tend to boil the brake fluid quite easily. That is a great photshop job, and the wheels look great! Gives me an idea of how they'll look on my GT

I could have sworn that I saw them in 17x8 but I just checked and sure enough.... I don't see them. I will attribute that to window shopping on the internet with too many windows open. Thanks for the heads up........

I guess I will have to run a fox length axle but with the extra inch of wheel everything should still look good.

i know afs makes 17x8 03 cobras, theyre on ebay alot, and i think ive seen em on the afs site too. ive been thinking about getting a set for mine for a while now too (actually debating on 17x8 or 17x9 all around, or splitting 17x8 fronts with 17x9 on the rears with 245f and 275r)

A friend of mine has 9" wide rears with 275s on his Notch and they dont rub.
