Wants to fix my car for me x-mas. Its a 93 cobra that my brother got brand new and I sparyed a little to much at it and now the left bank smokes really bad. The car has sat since 06 and before that It sat since 95 to 03. The car has only 36k on it.

But what I'm asking is.

I want to do a 347 and JUST a 150 shot of spary. What heads, and crank, pistons, rods, etc should I get? I'm not try to make my father spend a lot on this but I would just like to get my brothers car done.

Before you even get to the question of "What heads, and crank, pistons, rods, etc should I get?" you need to know how much you and/or your father are willing to spend and what kind of power you are looking to make.

I agree. Find a basic budget and work from there. If you have several grand to work with, then you can buy about anything. I would go with a kit as far as crank, rods, and pistons. For heads...If you only have 1-2k, then you might look at going with say GT-40P's or '70 Windsor heads. Otherwise, I think alot of people have had real good luck with AFR's.

It has gt40s from the factory. Send them to thumper. Do a basic rebuild with forged pistons for the nos. Get a anderson or custom cam. Send tmoss your intake. And last but not least throw away the x3z computer! get a a9l. Have it tuned with a flip chip for street and for nos.Flip of the switch and the timing is backed up for ya.

Ditch the stock heads for a good flowing set.

There is a slight possibility you did some damage to the bottomend.

So, much of the 5k will need to go towards the bottomend.

Remember, your weak point is the block. No need throwing lots of "forged" material in the stock block. They are good to around 500 bhp.

The left bank could be smoking due to a blown headgasket, which could cause coolant to get into the combustion chamber, and burn.

Or it could be worse...

shopping thread

--moved to talk--

Friendly Note:

I've been seeing a lot of these kinds of threads lately and just wanted to remind folks about what the difference is between a Talk thread and Tech thread.

A Talk thread includes all of those things that ask for an opinion, are created for the purpose of shopping, or are just not technical in nature.

A tech thread is just that. A technical question or set of instructions for a fix, repair, modification, or proceedure.

So a talk thread might start out like, "What set of heads/blower/underglow kit/headlights etc. should I get for my 19xx Fox?" vs. a technical thread that would start out like, "How do I install this set of heads/blower/underglow kit/ headlights etc. on my 19xx Fox?" -- or -- "What modifications do I need to make to my car in order to install this set of heads/blower/underglow kit/headlights etc. on my 19xx Fox?"

See the difference?

If I can get 400 to the wheels with a 347 and a 150 shot, I'll be happy. Its not like I'm going to be driving this car. After I get it done. Its going right back in the back of the barn and sitting in tell I wreak the 03 cobra.

Yes, well... folks do come and go. In the mean-time, we (the staff) will continue to place threads in their appropriate forums so that folks that are seeking technical information can continue to find it.

You can get 400 to the wheels with a N/A 347 if you really want too.

All that, with no volatile nitrous hits.

If you are not going to drive it, I say keep the 93 Cobra stock

Put that money towards a Kenne Bell or Whipple on the '03.

My brother messed that car up so bad. I'll never get to a stock car.

Plus thats why I go to Iraq to buy stuff for my cars. This is free money.

I used to live in Omaha as a youngster. My dad was in the military at the time.

I say, just do a N/A 347 personally.

Then its pointless to bother fixing it up now. Seals will dryrot, mice will get in, etc.
Why not just sell the car?

Most people go to support their family and their country and do it b/c they take pride in themselves. you sound like an ass that already has a plan for their car and since everyone you know is already gone why dont you go and junk up a different board
