i took apart my engine today down to the shortblock, to replace a head gasket. I had never done this before and i got coolant into the cylinders and on the top of the block, but i got almost all of it out besides really small moisture. My brother did this and bought a new block, but i heard you could just change the oil a few times. How should i go about doing this??

Good news is i was right about the head gasket being blown, cuz i would kick myself if i did all that and it was a cracked header.

On a side note, while its apart, i wanted to get chrome pieces, does anyone have anything to trade for non-chrome parts plus some dolo?

I just cleaned, clay-barred, polished, and waxed it the day the head gasket blew too, and i need the car to get to work, so im trying to be done with everything by friday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :SNSign:

uhhh coolant getting into the cylinders isnt a problem....your brother bought a new block because he got coolant into the cylinders? Hes retarded.

Yeah, just dry up the coolant and blow out the rest with compressed air or something. I hope your brother didn't buy a new block just because he got coolant on top of the pistons when taking the heads off. lmao

lol, when i did heads on my car, i pulled the passenger side head off, and about 70% of the coolant in it just dumped into the h pipe (i had the headser off). lol, i was pretty pissed because it wouldn't start after that... i must have like drowned the 02 sencor or something, but when it did lol, it was definetly a smoke show lol.
