Hey all
I have a very mildly-modded GT (BBK CAI, Magnaflow exhaust, Steeda short-throw shifter, 3.73 gears, SCT X3 custom tune (to be installed in a few days))
Me, being a bit of a car noob, I am not really sure what the next best HP-gaining mod would be. I know, I know you're all asking "what's your budget?" So, I'll just throw a number out there for now and see what you guys say. How about $3000 for a budget. This will give me an idea as to where I can expect to end up

If you can work on a car and have a place to do it I would spend the 3k on ported heads, cams, long tubes with shorty O/R x

OR

You could save the 3k toward going FI

It would be possible to get a centri blower for $3k. Maybe a vortech or procharger. I would definitely look into that.

Of course, nice tires and a good suspension set-up would be just as important as power mods.

I built my entire blower kit with tuning software and all for around 2 grand. I bought the Vortech head unit used for $650 and everything else was new. There is a sticky over on mustangforums.com in the pipes and boost section of the forums that gives all part numbers and everything! You can buy everything but the injectors tuning software and maf for like 1500 bucks!

I just sold a brand new complete (with a few extras) vortech for $1900 so if you look hard enough, you will be able to go the blower route.

Seriously? There is no reason to buy a complete used kit. You can buy all the parts brand new and the guide tells every single thing you need. You buy it all from one place. You can buy everything u need cheaper than jsut the tuner kit that still needs more stuff. I would link to the guide but the server for the forum must be down. You can buy all the brackets and hardware for less than 800 bucks. Used blower is about 600 or so. Injectors and MAF less than 350. Fuel pump about 75 bucks. He already has a tuner. So for like 1800 bucks he can buy everything brand new but the head unit.

No question about having the proper hardware and such. The guide tells what you need for every stang basically. sn95 new edge cobra all that.
