i was tuning up my engine and i didnt have the carb on and it started to rain now when i run it theres steam from it and its got some water on inside the top of my oil cap after i run it what should i do?
should i change the oil take the oil pan of clean it out, and take the headers of and clean them out and put some oil treatment in??? plz help

if its just water in the carb then there is really no biggie. I spray water in my carb to blow out carbon. you engine might just by drying from all the rain that hit it. If you had the valve covers off I would change the oil and let the plug out while I poured a quart of cheap oil in. Then with that drains. Finish the oil job as normal.

I would change the oil and filter. Before you started it the first time would have pulled the spark plugs to make sure you don't have any chance for hydrolic lock. I would leave the oil filler caps off and let the engine get to full operating temp for 15 min or so to let steam out. Don't worry about the headers any water will boil off quickly. Just look at your tail pipes on a cold morning you will quite often see water drip. You probably really may not even need to change the oil but oil change 20 bucks, rebuild engine 2000?

yea if it just went into the carb its ok, I live in San Jose and I did leave my hood open last night while workin on the Shelby Drop it rained only for about 2 hours but it was really light I dont think much when inside. I just pour more gas inside the carb and let it turn over to get all the water out gas cleans water really nicly .lol
