What software does the person at the Ford parts department use when looking up parts? Is the software available to the public?

The parts department person was kind enough to let me browse through the software. Needless to say that it has every Mustang part number imaginable, nice looking diagrams, a clear exploded view of the vehicle, etc.

Something like this should come with every car purchased!

From my understanding they all use different versions... Some are more up to date then others.

There are more than a few companies out there that supply catalogs to Ford dealerships. However, all of them require a subscription, and they usually require a connection to a Ford server or a peice of hardware. I have seen a few catalog DVDs on eBay, but they are useless with no subscription and MIGHT work for a month.

In other words, don't bother.
