91 2.3L Dual Plug DIS engine n/a

Problem..... Car would crank but not start. Replaced plugs, wires, coils, ign module.
Still had no spark. Read about guys having problems with new ign modules so i tried 2 used and 3 new modules and still no start.

Solution.....The ign module grounds through the screws that hold it to the intake.
HOWEVER....this is also where the crank sensor grounds. Turns out i had a bad crank sensor ground (also called PIP signal). Here is how i got to this solution.

Using a test light i hooked it to the battery positive terminal and probed the orange wire that is pin #7 on the module (grey connector on the bottom of the module). I only got a very dim orange glow from the test light. when i put pressure on the connector and moved it toward the front of the car the test light lit up fully. With the test light lit i turned the key and it started right up.!!When i let go of the connector the light went dim again. All i did was take the module off and slightly bend the pins so that they were just off center and reconnected the connector nice and tight. all good now!
This probably ment the first 2 modules and maybe even the 2 used modules were perfectly fine but the car runs now so im not touchin it anymore!

Hope this helps you guys. If anyone else has a no start solution that they want to add to help our fellow mustang owners in need im sure would be greatly appreciated.
