Some Cobra Brake Upgrade Questions, what about rotors? Please Help

I have a set of 13" Cobra front brakes, calipers, rotors, hardware on its way.

I want to know if SS lines made for a 94-95 mustang will work with these brakes?

Also want to know if crossdrilled rotors help that much? I was looking at Brembo but the dealer im dealing with has some called Magnums which he says most perfer.

Quote from him "Magnum is also top quality rotors, everyone likes them, they are also directional which has better internal cooling, I would go with the Magnum over the Brembo" he says the Brembos are not directional "The vents on the front rotors of the Cobra (BREMBOS) are curved, and the left and right rotors has curved that is curved to the opposite direction."

Does any of that make sence to anyone? The magnum ones are cheaper by about $20.00

Also if I were to buy these its a front and rear kit, will the cobra specific rotors work with my stock GT REAR brakes? I would assume so since there almost the same right?

I had to get cobra lines because the threds in the calipers are different and thay need to be longer as well. with the rotors I (hear) cross drilled will crack over time?

I've had cross drilled rotors on every single car of mine since I was 14 and never has one cracked. If they're properly drilled and countersunk they won't crack. I run the powerstop drilled rotors front and rear (about$450 from summit), and they rock. They're anodized gold and look great on the car. They don't fade, and haven't warped on me. they definately won't need replacing for a long time to come. It's nice to see people staring @ huge drilled rotors through your wheels when they pull up next to you.

so the 94-95 cobra lines wont work then eh?

There Russel lines for "94-95 Mustang Cobra" will those work or not? You said the cobra calipers are diffrent...these are for a cobra.

Also have you guys heard anything about Brembo, they make awesome stuff so im sure their rotors would be great.

And will the rear cobra x-drilled rotors work with my gt calipers?

I'm not exactly sure about the gt to cobra conversion, but as far as Brembo goes...they're top dog imo. Also, many car manufacuters use them from the factory so that attests to their quality. The rear Cobra Rotor's also bigger in diameter so I doubt the GT calipers would work.

Okay I thought they would but mabye not then...so I would need the rear cobra calipers u think? anyone know for sure?

You can use 94 95 brake lines as long as they are for a cobra.

Cross drilled are fine if you want to run them for looks and maybe slight weight reduction. Above that they aren't useful IMO. (likely to crack, you don't need the out gassing with the way brake pads are designed these days, and they can actually hurt the cooling due to messing up the internal air flow of the rotor in some cases)

As far as directional vs. Non directional the inside of the rotor is like a big fan so if one has a better design, designed for left and right go for it!

Negative. You need the Cobra specific axle bracket, anti-moan bracket and rotor. You use your existing caliper with the cobra pads (they are thinner to accommodate the thicker rotor). There are 3 different caliper brackets for the 94+ cars. You can either get a cobra specific unit or grind the GT/V6 one wider to accomodate the wider cobra rotor. They are the same 38mm caliper, Cobras just have larger rotors.

Ok so I can I just get the caliper bracket and rear calipers off a cobra and it will work?

like v8shme8 said... you can use the gt caliper, you need the bracket. not sure what the anti-moan bracket is

Yeah I can get cobra calipers and bracket for that price off ebay.

Ok so ill try to just find a rear caliper bracket off a 03 Cobra. Sorry for being annoying but that alone will work with the cobra size rear rotor?

Would the cobra caliper help interms of braking at all or would it just be a wate of money, seems like pads are quite a bit more for the cobra rear too.
