Have any of you installed your own mid pipe using ramps?

I did a dry run and it was not a comforting feeling being under that car much less with such little room. I think I need more reinforcements.

Should I get Jack stands for this mission? What other safety precautions do you take when lifting your car?

I''m thinking that I may need jack stand/floor jack. Any brand that you'd recommend? What's the minimum weight (1 1/2 ton, 2 ton, or 6000 pounds).

Have any of you rotated your own tires? Is this something that only involves swapping driver-front to passenger rear, etc.

You should be fine with ramps put it in gear and put on the parking brake, and chock the back wheels, or if you want more room you can leave the front tires on the ramps and jack the rear up and set it on jack stands, get 6 ton jack stands and a 3 ton hydraulic jack and you should be feeling pretty cozy under there, and never get under the car when just the hydraulic jack is holding it up always have jack stands under it as a saftey precaution.

Anothe thought. If you know somebody in the military see if they can get you on base to do it at the hobby shop.

For rotating the tires I always rotate front to back staying on the same side.

I changed my midpipe numerous of times with just using jack stands. It does feel cramp at first but you will get use to it. Like it was stated earlier, put the car in gear(5spd), parking brake, and chock the wheels and you should be fine. Rotating tires is pretty simple. I can't because I am running bigger rims in the back. To rotate just replace the tires from the front to the back. You don't have to cross them over from one side to the other. Very simple swap.

Ramps for working under the car.

The stock tires I have are directional. You can only move them front and back.
