As far as the pic taking, it is well worth the time to learn to use the manual settings! Nine times out of ten, you will be surprised at how much better they turn out opposed to what the camera thinks is best. The best way to get the correct white balance setting is to have a piece of white poster board big enough to fill the entire viewfinder of the camera(you can zoom in all the way to make the piece needed smaller-1 sq ft should work). Then go into your camera's menu and select custom white balance. Select the picture of the poster board you just took.
Several of your pics appear to be washed out with too much light entering the lens. Faster shutter speeds in brighter light and slower shutter speeds(usually requires a tripod)for lower light conditions. For the best natural lighting, try avoiding the middle of the day sun. First few hours after sunrise and close to sunset will usually give you good results. Make sure the sun is behind you for best results.
