TROOF! I have a hard time glancing at my gauges at WOT too. With double the hp a split second is all it takes to get in trouble. 23psi is awesom. Guess I gotta drive mine tomorrw and see what she does in this cold weather

Why are you putting you Trans Temp sender in the trans pan? To get a meaningful Trans Temp, you want the sender in the trans line that goes from the Trans to the Trans cooler, not the return line though.

That'd be reading the hottest fluid that's being sent to be cooled. I want to read the temp of the fluid that's being sucked up and sent to the valvebody and pumped into the TC. Otherwise you're not getting that good of an idea of how well it's being cooled, just reading how much abuse you're giving it.
I've seen it done both ways. Many argue the pan is more accurate because you're reading the temp of the new cool fluid being mixed in with the pan fluid which is what your trans actually uses. Some even move where they had it before to the pan due to inaccurate readings:

Also show properly here: http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/trgauge.html
Most do a T-fitting so they dont have to weld.

Sorry, he has almost double my rwhp

I forgot, have you dynod yours yet? How much can it make. I was just thinking of Muscle Car and their 4.6, I know its a DOHC but they made 491hp N/A I was thinking a properly built 2v such as yours would be only be down 20% of that

491hp? That's absolute malarkey if it's still a 4.6. I did dyno it, still having tune discrepancies - did put down some respectable numbers so far. We'll see, most manual guys are happy to see 300rwhp with stage 1 cams and even heads. So i'd be happy to get just south of there with an auto. After some fuel upgrades it may see some spray in its future.

It wasnt at the wheels. The car they built the motor for is not done yet so that was an engine dyno. When they tes crate engines they seem to be within 5 hp of the manufacturers rating
Here it is: Musclecar - Episodes

So you think it's putting down 417rwhp NA? They'd be the first to even get within 45+rwhp of that to my knowledge.
And that picture doesn't show anything special, from that angle the cams look like stock steel ones too.

- Must not be the finished project pictured. It says it's bored and stroked. It's not a 4.6, boring helps these engines a lot. Must be like 12.5:1 compression too.

Wasnt there a 99 or 01 Cobra putting down 395 rwhp N/A about 2 years ago?
It has some billet cams, not sure of duration, and one of thoes 8 tunnel ram/ 8 t-body intake setups. IDK how much more hp that will make over a stock ported plenum though

I read the description - just saying visually it looks stock. And wouldn't the stock intake be an Eaton? Unless that's a Mach 1 set-up.

Just found it. It was Shaun Johnsons Cobra. 4.6 bored .040 over. Stock Cobra crank, 03/04 heads, 01 intake and 96 cams. He made 375rwhp
Add a stroke, custom cams, ported/polished heads and that intake setup and 40 more hp seems very attainable

Sorry, a sentance was missing on that post. The mods were what the motor on Muscle Car had, not the Cobra. And 99/01 Cobras didnt have S/C on them.

Well the heads pictured aren't C heads. I don't see how someone can make as much power NA (or a little more) as the cobra did supercharged with just 96 cams and an 01 intake after being bored - that's crazy.

Yes, they are "C" heads. If you look you can see they have a single intake runner per cylinder. The "B" heads have two, if memory serves, for the IMRC. In the build up they (Sean Highland) says specifically they are 03/04 heads. I wish I could remember the intake used. I know when Ford first showed off their "Cammer 5.0" in a Focus it had the same 8 velosity stack intake setup. Kinda like this one:

I'm not saying they look like B heads - I'm saying they don't like C heads which are 99/01 cobra heads; and rather they look like tumbler port heads used on mach 1's and 03/04 cobras. Stop hijacking my thread!

here is some information i have gathered about cobra heads because i spent lots of time researching and looking for parts.

all 96-98 are "B" heads they can also be called Swirl Port Heads these flow more air than the "c" heads but do not have as much port velocity.

all 99-04 are "C" heads they can also be called Tumble Port heads. the 03-04 cobra heads were the same design but the casting was improved as well as the cams/valves are slightly different than the 99-01 heads.

the "c" heads flow about 50cc's less than the b heads but the port velocity is higher, which is why they make more power than the "b" heads.

"B" and "C" heads are interchangeable as long as the intake goes with it as well (kind of like a PI swap but not as easy)

FR500 heads are "c" heads and are compatible with the 99-01 intake or the 03-04 supercharger and intake. but they are better for N/A applications.

Nope - that's it. Just trans temp and A/F - no need for more unless the car had boost. I'll take a video of it at day and night and post it up Laser Install is going on as we speak - quite the bitch it appears.

Install's all done. Very nice results - i like the set-up a lot. Got a vid of it during the day - will combine it with it at night to give people an idea. Trans gets about at 192 in fairly spirited driving including occasional downshifts, so far. About 170-180 cruising on the freeway.

But for now I have an exhaust leak to take care of
