Someone define the term modular. What makes the 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8 engines modular? Can parts be interchanged? If so what parts can be interchanged?

the production facilities can be altered quickly to produce either one of the motors. ie, if you're making 4.6s in the romeo plant, in a short matter of time you can set up for production of 5.4 motors instead. I'm fairly certain interchangability of parts is not the intended meaning of "modular"

Yes, parts can be interchanged, such as heads, intake, cams....lots of parts, but in some cases, it isn't worth the money and you might as well swap the engine. For instance, you can put 4v cobra heads on a 2v, but for the money and huge PITA, you might as well just swap a cobra engine in.

Thanks doing research? Concerning installing a 6.8 v10 into a 5.0. I do not see v10 parts very often. It would be nice to know what other parts will work.

Lets see some pics of the 5.0

If you are going to spend $30-35k anyways might consider just getting an 03/04 Cobra...

None of the intakes are interchangable from one engine to another.
