I have been trying to order the on3 kit from their website but have heard a lot of roasting about their customer service. I tried calling several times so I could get the scoop on their product with no luck of getting any answer. I browsed around and found that Jegs has the same kit from on3. So today I ordered and it'll be here Friday.

Basically I wanted to know what extras I'll need to run the kit. I've ordered the Y pipe that they sell so I can run my carback. But what kind of fuel should i be running for a kit like this?

I have stock cam heads and intake.

What injectors, should I be running for stock? Is 42 overkill? I have an opertunity to score 30 pound inj and maf for 200 but I'm not sure if it'll support boost. I only plan on running max 8-10 psi.

Anyone know of some good piggyback tuners I could use like the Anderson PMS?

And lastly has anyone compared the 2 kits? they seem to both come with the same hardware so hopefully I'm not missing anything.

If anyone runs this kit and has any advice or suggested misc parts to buy that I will need on gameday please share.

Thankyou

I'm sure I'm breaking some rule here, but there is a section over on the Corral dedicated to turbos, and within that there is a LONG thread that is a Q&A for On3 kits, with direct input from the owner of On3. I can try to answer some of your questions though.

You should be able to run pump gas 93 assuming you don't try to push toooo much boost.

42 lb injectors are not overkill. Make sure you also have a fuel pump that is up to snuff. Think 255 lph.

Look into a Moates Quarterhorse as a tuner, though a dyno tune is a good idea to know what kind of power you're making on boost.

You'll need a pair of jackstands capable of supporting a car for at least 10 years

No, it's just that every single person I know that has decided to install a turbo kit on their car (be it a Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, import, etc...) remains undriveable on jack-stands for a considerable amount of time. So much time is spent trying to fabricate, modify, gather obscure parts, etc... that most of these cars end up sold on CL in their half taken apart condition while still resting on jack-stands.

I wish you the best of luck, but with stock heads and cams I must also assume you have a stock block. Therefore, a Vortech kit would likely be able to provide you with the same amount of power for less time and money invested, and it can be installed on a Saturday afternoon. Some of the components in the on3 kit are garbage and would need to be upgraded anyways. Used Vortech kits for the 5.0 pushrod fox can be found for less than $2,000.

I sold my turbo kit years ago when I found out how much fabbing would be needed. Back then you couldn't keep A/C either. I bought a Vortech S-Trim and bolted it on in a few hours and made 500HP.

The On3 kits are good but I don't think it's quite a bolt on unit. Oh and 42's is not overkill, you want to have more injector than less. You'll want to get tuned before you do any WOT blasts.

Oh okay, ive seen that before on c.l as well. I've installed a n2k and a v-3 on my previous cars. I just figured I would try something new. I've lightly helped install this kit on my friends fox and it was straight foward. Have you ever seen the installation process on one of these kits? It's pretty straight foward. I'm not the smartest guy, and I'm not a cert mechanic. But I feel confident enough and knowledgeable enough to install this kit. If my block gives out I'll have to cough up coin for a rebuild. Anyone know of someone who could build me what I want?

That's the first "like" I've received from Brian... NICE! and probably the first like I've given him

This thread is the equivalent of the Christmas day cease fire between the Germans and the British during WWI

I think the problem with most turbo cars is not the turbo or the car, it's the owner. There are plenty of good examples of well-working turbo cars, but of course the majority of problematic ones you see are projects that are cobbled together by guys who expect it to be a cheap weekend job, and of course it's neither of those.
