Kane warehousing in Taylor in the Playtex building ( yeah I know, I deal with wipes and tampons all day), they all seem too know everything about cars but are totally clueless.

I got one telling me his Cobalt SS will smoke me and the other telling me his 5600 pound 55 Chevy runs high 8 low 9's on honest to god street tires.

I actually work with a guy from Puerto Rico who owns a Civic hatchback that hates Civics and oher imports with body kits, big wings and graphics. His car is actually quite snappy, it has a B16 swap with bolt ons and a 75 shot, he plans for a turbo in the future. He said he loves smoking ricers. Real cool guy.

there is ricers and then there is tuners....ricers go for looks to gain H/P and tuners go for stock looking as they can while tryin to get 3X the power than they bought the car with....and still know what the hell they are talimg about

The guy from Puerto rico is a tuner, he actually challenged the kid with the Cobalt to a race after work for $200 and the Cobalt owner got all quite and backdown, claiming his car wasnt running right.


I just cant stand all the know it all's who know nothing or take what they hear in a movie for truth.:Zip2:

i beat my buddys 06 gto.. but he said it wasnt running right either... warped his alum heads i think.. the warrenty cover'd it but i wont race him if its 100%

All you have to do to make ricers shut up is ask them to race for money. If you get one to race you, for money or not, once you kill him, him and his boiiiiiiis will tell the whole world that "that mustang" is insanely fast, and no one will ever try and race you, or talk crap again. At least that's what happens in my town.

im right with you, i work with this 23 yr old guy who says he swapped a "saleen 351" in his 91 f150, and OF COURSE, it'll "piss all over my mustang" i've tried to explain that it was virtually impossable to have a motor out of a saleen s351, but he insists it's one....according to him, saleen not only tunes mustangs, but he also make's block and head castins as well.

The funny thing about rice-fans is this. They will tell you about thier buddy/cousin/whatever who just does this as a hobby, built this amazingly fast car for very little money, and the abilities and specs of the car beats or rivals what takes professionals big bucks to do.

Example: I worked at this one shop, where a young guy worked there told me how him buddy had a skyline, and how he just did some basic upgrades, totalling about $3000, and it makes 1196awhp on pump gas, and passes emmisions, and gets over 30mpg, completly streetable and drives it daily. It's amazing how it took professionals to build the same power level, took them over $60K, is not emmisions legal and only runs on race gas.

Remember that one guy who posted on here about his buddy's that had 9 and 8 second 1/4 mile civics that they drove daily?

The teachers are the best tho, you guys should here some of the stuff they say about "BACK IN THE DAY"....Oh, and everybody has an F-14 back home, including me.

LOL about every car in that list will get wasted by a bone stock Regal GNX from the late '80s so i don't think any car was banned from the states because it was too fast. The reality is, the Supra flopped because it was so damn expensive and the rest of those cars were here but were also expensive and therefor didn't do so well.

As for the Cobalt SS, i ran one from a light 2 times in a row a few months ago and put about 2 car lengths on his ass before he could hit second. I was honestly pretty impressed because he kept up once we started to get faster, but from a dig that car had nothing.

oh god...high school was hell for me. in my class i was the ONLY guy with respectable cars, and everyone else had ricers or absolute crap chevys and they all decided they all could smoke me. one guy came up to me thinking he was in teh fast and teh furious and said he had a modded lancer and was gonna smoke me. well...he had a lancer...too bad it was an "oz rally edition" 120 hp front drive beast with a fart can, cut springs, interior glow and a window banner. another kid had a rusted ass el camino that idled at 500ish so it almost died and sounded like a cam, with his exhaust cut off after the headers said he "smokes new cobras all day" talking about terminators. i told to him how fast they were and how i got beat by one that last weekend so he was convinced he could kill me. one day i drove a rental car to school (pontiac gran prix 3600 or some ****) and got next to him at a light on the way home. well after i killed him he claimed he wasnt full throttle, and he didnt have any traction. so i said lets go agian and i beat him badly agian and he thought i was squeezing NAWZ. this was no joke a weekly problem with me...everyone thought they were paul walker.
edit: and i drove by my old high school friday and there was 3 or 4 srt4s in the parking lot along with cobalt ss' and basically any other ricer you could imagine. its really sad what out youth is coming to

I had a guy tell me his stock civic does 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds. I laughed at him and told him he is full of crap. No stock 4 banger honda will do 6 seconds 0 to 60. I told him he lies and then he told me his civic would kick my cars butt in a race. So I challenged him for a race and he told me his car isn't running right. lol what ever

Shoot!! a civic might do 0-60 in about 5 hours, my accord has beaten some of the coveted b18 cars, and I got a pos f22 sohc non vtec car, and it will do 0-60 in about 13 being dead honest with ya guys.

You guys should seriously just go and hang out at a wyotech or uti for a couple hours, there is so much logic going on there it will make your head hurt.....I have learned so much......EVERYONE is right.....and thats that. but anyways, just got back from a junkyard in chandler az(really nice part of az) and saw one of the funniest things in a while.....getting on the 10 to come home i see a new GT-H getting off thats stopped at the light and a white lambo of some sort(id say a gallardo or whatever) getting pushed around the corner, bout fell off my bike cause i was laughing so damn hard, here a RENTAL mustang that probably has had its ass kicked by the people driving it since the day it was built, and it was the one idlin away like a champ. God how i love the world of stangs....
