Sound Deadener help. how much and which one??

i'm planning on putting in a sound deadener to my '03 gt soon and am wanting to cover the floor, door panels, headliner, and trunk. basically everything. i hear 100 sq-ft can cover a small to midsize car... ? anyone covered there car that can help me figure out how much i need to buy. and also i have heard obviously of dynamat...it's expensive but i'm hoping i can get a wholesale deal from a guy i know..., i've also heard good about fat mat and edead... anyone no of good and affordable companies, and of companies to stay away from?

any help on good/bad and amounts would be a lot of help. thanks

dynamat is WAAAAAAAAAY overpriced. Go with FATMAT. It's cheaper and is exactly the same. You could do the whole car for about 100-120 bucks.

I'd do some research before deciding on a deadener. I definitely wouldn't pay for dynamat.

The guy compares a bunch of stuff and comes away with some good conclusions. I read it and decided to go with Second Skin Audio.

Here is a thread on my install and here is another thread on a new edge install.

My GTO has a bunch of B-Quiet Ultimate in it. The car started out much quiter than the late model Mustangs, and it is DEATHLY quiet now (except for those funny turbo whines every now and again). That is a good product. It has been in the car for 2.5 yrs with no problems at all.

if you are using FATMAT... then you could get peel'n seal from Home Depot... BUT I would never recommend either.

Agreed. I'd stay away from anything that has an asphalt base. I could possibly give Bquiet Ultimate a shot....if I were not going to use Second Skin.
