sound deadening

i am not sure about that, but i was just about to make a comment about sound deadening...... we are putting FatMat in my g/f's car and so far we have the doors 100% done and the do not rattle at all anymore. this stuff is amazing and WAY cheaper than dynamat. i remember someone who said it wasnt as good as dynamat...well it sure does work good. so to answer your question it might work you may have to do 2 layers but it just might work.

Well, good news and bad news -

Good news is that I deadened the doors and my mid-bass speaker response just woke right up - night and day difference.

I put 2 layers of secondskin damplifier in the trunk - my exhaust noise is still as loud as it ever was (but no more rattles from the sub).

I'm going to get some Damplifer Pro or some DynaMat Extreme, yank the seats and carpet and do the entire floor panel - I think that's probably where most of the exhaust noise is coming in anyway. Gotta just wait for a nice cool (70 degree) day.

I love the sound...

You'd pretty much have to do your entire floor panel if you wanted to kill the exhaust noise...but why did you get the exhaust if you didn't like the sound?

But I like to keep the outside sounds outside and the inside sounds inside :D

By reducing cabin noise, you can get a +3dB or more gain in your stereo (ok ok, it's NOT a 3dB gain, but more of a 3dB attenuation of outside noise, thus allowing you to listen at lower volumes and still keep above the road noise) volume.

Also, the more deadening I put in, the more thump thump stays in the car and the less I piss off any neighbors - or attract unwanted attention from the guys looking for free stuff at my expense, if you know what I mean.
