My 2008 gt 4.6 when I slow down sometimes makes a loud noise. Sounds like it's running without oil. I know it's not. After researching posts im thinking it's cam phaser. My car hasn't thrown a code tho. Would it throw a code if I had a bad cam phaser ?
Not sure about throwing codes, but if you search YouTube, there are all kinds of videos showing what a bad cam phaser sounds like and how to fix it. it's a great resource.
