My spare tire cover is long gone, been years literally since chucked it. Had it kinda rigged from then on.
I'd like to get another one, which isn't so easy.
I prefer to have a real one, if not though it's not they end of the world.

Late model mustang supply, has them listed for 87-98, is that true? I went to my mustang JY to get one, but i only looked in 87-93's and they were all ruined.
Is the 94-98 the same too?

Did the original have studs on the bottom to keep it from moving, if so, does the LMRS reproduction have them?
Why the hell would you have to trim it?

Thanks for any input.

The one in my 5.0 looks like that one. It just centers on the spare tire jack rod poking through the hole. I don't have any other studs.

I made the one in Frankenstang's notch out of some thin Formica/particle board stuff I had laying around. Just measured and test-fitted a lot, and cut it with a sawzall. Works just as good as a stock one, and you can't see it under the carpet, anyhow.

Only trimming I can imagine being needed is if the hatch and notch/vert trunks have different clearances toward the rear. Maybe they sell just the hatch spare tire cover, but if it's longer and you're putting it into a 'vert or notch trunk, you'd have to shave a bit here and there on the edges...?

i got one from the performance shop i go to. he has them made of aluminum. much much better than any flimsy cardboard crap. i paid i think 75 for it which isn't really bad since the crappy cardboard is likie 40 or so? i could get you the info on the shop maybe you can talk to them they might ship you one. i love mine no cheap carboard, i can polish it or powdercoat it. and someone mentioned studs or something to keep it from moving since its metal that would be even easier.
