It seems my stock ignition isn't doing the job. I was drivng my car yesterday and got into it in 4th. It was pulling hard when all of a sudden the car went dead, it was like hitting a brick wall. I instantly let off the gas and glanced at my fuel pressure guage. The car came back to life and the fuel looked fine. It scared the **** out of me. Thought I blew my motor up. I called my tuner up and asked what just happened. He thinks that my spark is being blown out? Have any of you experienced this with a stock ignition? I guess its time to buy an MSD box. This also might be the reason why we were seeing a power drop right at the top of the RPM band on the dyno, around 5500rpm's the car would lose power. We thought it might be valve float but maybe its spark?

could be, get a msd or crane ignition set up and run a tighter gap...this should work if it is getting blow out.

11psi, the plugs are gapped to 35. Stock ignition right now. I think I'm gonna buy a Digital 6 plus.

It will be a good investment anyways. Its quite possible that you are blowing out the spark, mine are gapped at 32, but every combo is gonna be different. Good luck getting it tracked down!

8.2:1 compression built 306, stage 2 GT40X heads, trickflow track heat intake, custom grind turbo cam, lots of suspension, ect. I haven't had the car together that long really, its been sitting more than anything since I have grenaded 2 transmissions, I have an Art Carr AOD/w transbrake on the way though so its almost time for the track. Heres a pic of the engine
