Ok my 88Gt is stock block with eldlebrock uper and lower, 70mm TB, K&N, um...hollowed out smog pump and MAC LT's and O/R H with 2chamber flows out back. My fuel pressure gauge shows 38-40 psi under throttle and with new O2 sensors and car runs like a champ. Recently put Champion plugs in the car and have no complaints, stock timing , no detonation and motor pulls really hard to about 5600-5700. When I removed my plugs after about 175 miles to take a look at them the electrodes were covered with white/yellow deposit except where the spark transfers (what I call where the spark travels from the arch to the center portion) which is clean and the porcelen (spelling?) is white as if just out of the package..should I be concearned about the look of the plugs ..engine running lean?? and should I be worried about bumping the timing up to 14* from stock. Hey and while your at it give me a Quarter mile guess with 273 gear I'm thinking mid to high 13's if I get lucky with traction.

You nailed it with this - runs like a champ, pulls hard, no detonation. Your car/plug is just fine. Play with the timing if you like - if you advance it far enough to hear pinging, back it off a bit. And remember, the temps are a bit cooler this time of year. If you set the timing right on the edge of detonation now, you may have to back it off a bit when it warms up this summer.

Kind of how I was feeling. With the timing advanced is will I feel any difference in day to day driving, if no real diference I can't see the advantage to running with bumped timing

Yeah low 14's maybe without a gear change, but with the new LT's and H the car feels a hell of a lot stronger through the entire RPM range, I really feel like this set up will put a few high 13's on the board. 91notch lookin at your 60' time your probably lookin at a 1/2 second there yourself.

Anything is possible. My old combo in my 85 ran 13.8. With a stock suspension, drag radials, 3.55's, stock 86 302 and heads(crap), Ecam, RPM intake, demon 625 carb, mac shorties, and custom exhaust with dumps. I think my 60's were in the 1.6-1.8 range though.
