Whats the deal with the spark plugs on these S197's? I read something about a two piece plug... are they a pain in the arse to change? I have an 08 cs with nearing 20k and want to change them. Anything I need to know before I jump into it?

I too have an 08. Look on the engine tag on the drivers side valve cover and see if it has "AB" in the middle of the numbers. If it does you're in luck! They changed the heads and plugs on the 08's built after 11/30/07 and went back to a conventional plug. You should have NO problems at all removing them. Let us know....:nice:

Replaced my plugs at 15K miles with none of them breaking off. I followed the Ford TSB on the subject. You shouldn't "need" new plugs for 100K miles (the one good thing about the factory platinum plugs), but if you anticipate needing to change them (i.e. blowers, turbos, nitrous, etc.) then do it sooner than later and go with a good copper plug which has better thermal conductive properties than platinum. Colder heat range would be great for power adders, also. I used FRPP 3V0 copper plugs that are one heat range colder than stock and they made a world of difference in how my supercharged '07 GT runs!

Well if you have AA on the sticker than yes, you have the old style plug. Yours must be an early 08 model. I don't think you're screwed you just have to follow the TSB to remove them hopefully without breakage!
