I run auto light #26 in my 1988 5.0 does anyone else have any idea if running a hotter plug is a good thing or a bad thing ??? thanks ..

Usually one puts a hotter plug in when the car starts getting fouling issues from oil getting in the cylinder. Other than that, there is no reason to do it.

Yeah I always used to run one heat range colder than stock...never the other way.

Like he said, usually performance setups require a colder plug, not a warmer one.

I was taught by a engineer at Ford who has done combustion testing. Run the hottest plug without having pre-ignition, this gives ultimate combustion efficiency while maintaining maximum power through out the fuel curve.

Stick with stock plug.

Which I imagine is what they did when the chose the stock plug, eh?

Yes exactly.
I also prefer using the NGK tech line for the recommended modified engines advise.
