Actually, come to think about it. I believe I have Infinity - 6" x 9" s in the rear.

Dash = 3.5
Door = 5.25
Rear 1/4 Panels = 5x7/6x8

where on earth does a 6.5 round speaker fit in a fox?

in the doors. most 6.5s are just too deep to mount, so some get 5.25

Did you cut the speaker mount bigger?

I have a 6.5" Infinity Component set in my doors. The woofer clears just fine. Had to drill some new holes for the screws, but asside from that, no issues.

The factory size in the rear is 5x7/6x8 but I got some 6.5" adaptor plates to run a second Infinity component set.

yeah those work. but once you start spending some money (jl, focal, etc.) you're going to run into problems with the window.

Ive got 4" dash speakers (a little work with a Dremel made them fit) and 6x8's in the rear (fit like stock).

The simple fix is usually to just spend more money! LOL

I had to build out my door panels a little to clear my MB Quart 6.5" drivers.

JGT is right though, most premium 6.5" speakers are going to have larger motor structures (magnets) and clearance will be an issue with the stock (unmodified) door speaker location.

I have 6 1/2 Pioneer special application door speakers. They are thinner than most 6 1/2 ones. I wanted the JL's to match the other 4, but too deep in the door hitting the window glass.

Yep....I hardly listen to music in my car. I love to drive buy the crowded spots up town and hear alarms going off outside the crowded bars than hear people like "howly Falk"
