The paperwork that came with the clutch said to put 450 miles on the clutch prior to doing any 'spirited' driving. After doing my HCI I am REALLY wanting to put my foot in it to see how it does. I have about 125 miles on it now. Should I really go that many miles?

Also, after the HCI my car seems to be running too warm, around 230 per my AM elec. gauge. I have a Fluidyne, new waterpump, new 180 thermostat, all new 50/50 mix Preston and a bottle of watter wetter. I even drilled a hole in the thermostat as it did not have one. The car did not run hot prior to my swap. Any ideas?

I know some people who wait for 500 miles and some who powershift it out of the shop. I would personally wait the 500 miles just to be safe mainly because I am one paranoid mother. I'm not sure about you over heating though. Maybe you have some air bubbles in the system? My car started running hot after my swap so maybe that is one of the things you just have to pay to play.

Being a dealer of their product I would recommend that you follow the recommendations in the instructions. I have had numerous claims on issues such as this and turns out the break in time was not followed. Just trying to save you from toasting a clutch and being out some $$$.

Also my cars temp went up when I did the motor swap. I am thinking that I installed a gasket wrong or something.

How hot does it run? I'm going to try to 'burp' the system tonight and if that doesn't do the trick then I'm going to remove the U/D pullies and see if that helps. It doesn't help that I live in the desert. It was over 105 here today.

:rlaugh: :rlaugh: You must have read one of my posts! :D I powershifted after the install and never looked back. I have been beating on the Tremec and SPEC like a mofo since the install and I have had no problems yet. It is a nice strong trans and clutch. :nice:

Mine took over 1,000 to break in, it did slip the other day or so I thought but I think it was wheel spin, I got on it hard in 3ed gear and the tach jumped but dident shoot down to redline like it used to when the clutch was slipping, it went from like 4K to 5K and then grabbed again. It dident feel the same as when the clutch was slipping before so Im hoping that it was wheel spin.
