If you guys have one maybe you can answer a question for me.

I have a 03GT with a stage 1 in it and every time i run hard from a stop i can smell the clutch is this normal for a spec clutch and it only has about 2000 miles on it

Thanks

I'm having the same problem with mine as well. Doing a burnout to warm to the DR's leaves some serious clutch odor and sometimes it doesnt grab...

Ive got same clutch in my 88 GT, it smelled like clutch for about the first 1500 miles, and i tried to break it in as easy as i could for the first about 600 miles. The smell went away on my car. I got it the most in reverse i had a steep driveway. I think you may need a stronger clutch, try a stage 2. Your car has the max hp/torque rating on the clutch almost stock. 2000 miles you shoulkd not smell clutch anymore??

On the spec website it says 420 torque capacity i have no where near that N/A so i don't know but the smell has gone away so far after a few hard runs today so i maybe it will last another 3 months till i deploy

Thanks for your guys input

My stage 1 installed last September (maybe 5k ago) still smells on a steep hill start or a if I rode the cluth a little bit. The clutch grabs hard as my best dyno run ever was using the Spec clutch. I probably would not put another spec clutch in next time, but I was unhappy with the lift of my stock clutch as well.
