Special jack for lowered 'Stangs?

I lowered my ride about 1 1/2" and installed the Cervinis Stalker kit. I was wondering what happens if I get a flat. Will I be able to get my car's jack under it?

You might want to throw a few 2x4's in the trunk to pull the car up on... Just get one or two short pieces to put one tire on so its that much higher off of the ground and you should be fine.

if you have a flat then a 2x2 aint gonna do anything. i recommend getting a small (by small i mean short) jack that will lift up one cornerso you can get a normal jack under there. i have to drive up on 2x4's to get my jack under my car. im deathly afraid of gettin a flat cause i dont think ill be able to get under my car with the tire deflated...

Then you might want to take the advice "1105" is handing out and carry a couple or short 2x4s with you to get the car up some.

well thats not gonna work to much when the tire flattens about 2" or more. that means i will have to find a way to get my wheel to go up on 3 2x4's cause i already need to put them on 2 to get just about any jack under there. if i had the cash, id invest in a small like 2 ton jack but ill consider myself lucky for now and hold off on it

If you can, pull it off into the grass, dig a hole for the jack to go in, then stick a piece of wood down there for some support and try jacking it up that way Maybe a jack used by race teams will fit under there... The one my bro got is pretty low but they are expencive.

Maybe I'll just have to call AAA and let them worry about it. My other problem is the spare only fits in the back due to the Cobra brake upgrade. If I get a flat in the front I have to switch 2 tires.

Look arround for a Cobra spare. I just plan to call AAA I DO NOT plan on doing ANY roadside work. Ill rip anything apart in the garage but in the side of a highway..
I drive mine up on 2x6's to get my jack at home under it..

i had a flat once and couldnt get the jack under it and i have a similar setup as yours. I had the get the highway emergency crew to come and hook a winch to the front end and yank it up .. it was painful to watch!

I carry 2-2x6 boards, about 24" long. I have the ends cut at a 45* angle to make it easier to drive up on. I also have 2-4x4 pavers from my driveway, about 2 inches thick, that I can place under the boards so that the boards act like a ramp.
My car is REALLY low to the ground.

Another thing...IF the leak is slow, you can use your emergency air compressor that we should all carry, to inflate the tire enough to get it into a position to put it on the boards.

94GTLaserRC is right about the air compressor. In most situations with flat tires, you can temporarily inlfate the flat tire to get a jack going. I started carrying not only an air compressor, but also a toolbox that has loads of sockets and other stuff (bought just to stay in the car).

How many people actually check the air pressure in their spare tire? An air compressor sure would be nice when you get a flat and realize that your spare tire is flat also. Nothing like having free air. My air compressor's charge lasts for months at a full charge. I only take it out about every two months to charge overnight for peace of mind.

Wow you guys are prepared I hope you pass by If Im on the side of the road!!! I Never check the spare... My friend doesnt even have one in the car!!!! He makes me check mine when we go on LONG halls so its ready if he needs it I guess I just take for granted that Im gona get there OK... Im always working on the car so I hope nothing pops up by surprise. Now you guys are going to ginks me Im going to the 40th and my Buddy that we travel with isnt going... Ill be all alone, SO if you see a Pace car on the side of the road bring your air compressor and the tools

Some friends of mine used a home made version of this: http://www.raceparts-direct.com/scripts/product.asp?typeID=17 to lift their DSR race car. Those have about 2" of ground clearance, so it should get under your car, but I don't think they are designed for heavy cars.

If ford was smart like Mercedes, they would weld a little tube in to the chassis and the jack would have an angled pin that slides in and lifts the car from the side. Mercedes has been doing that since the 60's or earlier and it works great.

IM talking about the one you plug in your cig lighter that has the flashing red light on it.

I would not keep a pressurized tank in my trunk if I dont have to.

Im going to have to carry something b/c Ive have 2 flats in the past 3 yrs but none since I put on the Cobra Rims and Kumo tires so maybe that will bring me some better luck. like RC said most of the time you will have a slow leak and it will hold air long enough to get it on ramps or boards inable to jack it up. Dont count on always being that lucky though b/c the last time I got a flat I hit a peice of metal on a bridge and it sliced a big hole in the side wall and that tire went down faster then I could blink and had enough of a gaping hole so that it wouldnet hold air. Lucky for me I was really close to home so I limped it back w/ no damage done to the rim, wouldent try that w/ my Cobra R's though

are we talking about the factory scissor jack here? thats pretty tiny it should fit under the car no matter how flat the tires are and lowered. if its for home you can get a low profile aluminum race jack for about 100 bucks
