There are a lot of hobbyists that come to Stangnet for help. Some of them have experience with other cars and have a good compliment of common tools to turn nuts and bolts . Others are new to the hobbyist car fixit scene and aren't so well equipped. With that in mind, a list of the less common tools that are used on 5.0 Fox Mustangs would be helpful.

1.) Timing light
2.) Good digital voltmeter
3.) Vacuum gauge
4.) Fuel pressure test gauge
5.) OBDI scan tool such as Eqquis Digital Ford Code Reader model 3145 (a paper clip will do the job, but the scan tool is easier to use.)

We have all had different experiences, so add your suggestions to this list....

5.5mm socket for changing the module on the distributor. This tops my list as it's something that every fox owner will likely do at some point or another and isn't usually in the tool box when you need it most.
Fuel line removal tools come to mind as well

More extensions than you think you'd need, about 2' worth. Case in point - removal/install of brake booster nuts, starter bolts (if long tubes are installed), and installing transmission, to name a few. At least that's how I've always done it.

Fuel line disconnects and a GOOD fluid pump. Right now my favorite has been the 1 gallon $9.99 special garden sprayer from Homedepot. It filled up the trans just fine a few months back. Little slow, but cleanest method yet, besides going through the shifter.

if doing any serious mechanical work, a 1" travel indicator and a mag base. useful for checking gear backlash, runouts, thrust settings, degreeing cams, etc.

and if you have a tfs intake, make sure to have more than just 1 12-point, 5/16, 1/4 drive socket. somehow its the one socket i can never find when i need it, and i have three of em floating around.

set of stubby 12pt box end wrenches for getting those pesky long tube header bolts torqued down (in my case that's a 7/16ths)

1) PB Blaster (or the like)
2) Safety glasses that really cover your eyes well to protect your eyes from the undercarriage rust, dirt and debris that fall into your face.
3) +1 on the MM spring removal tool, simple yet expensive but well worth it.
4) Trick Flow pushrod length measuring tool

The same Torx bit that fits the seat belts also fits the Torx bolts on the front brake calipers
