speed cal problems

I'm wondering were the fuse for the lighter is since the speed cal runs off of lighter power. can the speed cal throw the code 511 which is problem with reading the computer.

will a bad speed cal cause this? I may just disconnect it if I can remember how.

It shouldn't be wired anywhere near the PCM, as far as I can tell. Do you have a chip, or anything?

The speed cal hooks into the vss sensor which talks to the computer to calculate the speed. I do have a chip, but that would not make the speed sensor to stop working. It may cause the computer to throw a code.

The problem with removing the chip is that it doesn't run well without it.
