All I can say is good luck..I know guys who have had very few issues with mild cams and SD..and others who had to abandon the cam all together just to be able to drive the car. There are other FAR more compatable cams for SD than the Ecam..I would not waste my time.

It's not the only thing you can do but it might be the most cost effective. Otherwise, you're going to end up investing in an EEC tuner or a custom tune to teach the computer how to deal with the reduced vac readings it gets from the MAP sensor.

Edit: I should also note that it's getting harder and harder to find shops with the capability of doing a custom tune for SD. A lot of places don't have the software any more.

mass air swap took me less than 1 hour after reading on here how to do it , get the mass air stuff and change it over and forget the E cam and go with a trickflow stage 1 , far better cam all around .....

may work out fine for ya, I know my old 87 didn't have any problems with the B303 I put in it, and there's plenty of people that say that won't work

I have a 88 GT and put in a similar cam and had problems with idiling. I had to change cam or change to mass air, so it was alot cheaper to change to mass air and better performance.

He's right... sometimes it does work out. It's why I initially went with the E-cam. I've discovered though, that chances are more in favor of it not working well without something done with the tune.

The sensor is not the issue here. The computer's tune is the issue. If it were a matter of swapping MAP sensors to deal with a new cam then they'd have to make a different MAP sensor for each and every cam on the market. Not a feasable solution.

???? Why would you want to pay someone to burn a chip that will not only cost you damn near as much $$ as a mass air conversion..but then prevent you from any further modifications/changes to the engine set up due to new parameters of the chip. Spend the cash for either a junk yard swap, or if the money is available grab the FMS conversion kit..it cost me more, but was done in 1/2 hour..with no wiring or cuttting. The conversion is easy, and can be reversed at any time, plus it will alow you any combination you want..and changes at will.

With all of what you have listed in your signature youreally need mass-air anyway. Even with the stock cam you might need the mass air for the computer to properly control the air/fuel ratio you will have.

Other than switching to MAF (the cheap easy solution) you could go to a Western Motorsports system computer. It's speed density. It's like a grand, but it'll run just about anything and it'll plug into your factory harness. It's a totally self contained sytem, no lap top needed. Handles boost, nitrous and anything else you can think of.

I wouldn't do the 'E'. That cam has 110 LSA. You need a cam with 114 or better LSA. Crower, or some Comp XE s work. Crower is the most popular with SD.
