I recently aquired a set of speedline saleen 18" magnesium rims. When I recieved them I directly turned them in for a redo.
When I went to pick them up the guy said that there was something very strange. There where three rims that had one offset and the last one had another. He said that one had an offset of 35mm and the rest had 15mm. How could this be? It seems that I have turned up with 3 back rims and one front rim.
How shal I solve this? Is it possible to modify the 15mm offset rim to 35? I have tried to look all over for an additional 35mm offset magnesium rim, but with no luck att all. So I guess I need to find a way to modify the 15mm offset rim.

Another question, the guy at the redo shop also said that the rims where 8,5" wide, but when I mesure them compared to another rim which is 8,5" they seem a little bit wider. Any toughts about this?

Here is a pic of one of the rims after they where redone

I would be glad for all the help I can get!

That's exaclty what you have are three rears and one front. YOu have to keep your eyes peeled on ebay. It is possible to find at least a front set of wheels. There is little nothing you can do to mill the hub on that magnesuim wheel to get it where you want it. You wold be compromising the integrity of it. ALL Speedline Magnesium wheels were 8.5's and 8.5's rear or 10's rear. No 9's. Whoever sold you the wheels most likely knew what they were doing selling you three rears and a front.

What offset is maximum you can use up front with theese wheels? is it possible with a 25mm offset? wont 35mm look strange? Then if it is impossible to mill the hub down to 35mm, maybe it is possible to 25mm and then I can add a spacer on the 35mm so it comes to 25mm ?

They are suppose to be mounted on a 2000 year mustang gt

http://www.pmustangs.com/wheels/wheels_index.htm

Scroll down to the 11th set of wheels down the page. Not sure if they still have them, though.

2 fronts

I may have two fronts if you still need them. They would need to be redone to match your current paint.

Calculated out, that is about 1/3 of an inch difference. (at least according to the online calculator i used, tell me if i'm wrong)

I'm not so sure .3 inches can be seen by the eye when they are on the car. If it were me i'd consider at least trying it, and if it worked, using them that way until you get the right rim.

Especially since you can't see both sides of the car at once.

I agree. The 8.5 rear wheel wont rub anywhere up there. Buy Dan's two fronts and you are set. DOn't use wheel spacers on the front of the car unless you absolutely have to. Also, when you bought the wheels did you get the rubber gaskets for the magnesium wheels?

Thanks Marcus. I took the one I have off so that all four match, but I like the wheels better with them on there. What are they for anyways??

I dont have any gaskets =) What are they for?

A rim shop wanted to have a look at my rims and see if they could modify it....

Else I will buy Dans, but it is a whole more money then I planned to put into rims.... I only planned with the first set, but I oviously got fooled =(
