speedo correction for 4.10 gears

Hey guys... got a AODE transmission, gonna install 4.10 gears soon... Ive heard that there isn't a gear to fix the speedometer (but then agian, iv'e heard there is)... and i've also heard something about a computer chip to fix it.. Can anyone give me some more information on this?

Sorry if this has already been asked.

Your going to need a chip with your auto and 4.10s.. or it would be smart to anyways...

To fix the spedo with 4.10's all you have to do is get a jeep tranny drive gear.
It's like a 26 tooth drive gear and it cost's under $2.
If you do a search you should be able to find the part number on here.

getting a chip won't fix his speedo??? will it, our cars have a driven gear attacehd to a sensor thing, that holds the driven gear and sends a signal to the speedo base on revolutions, from what i have seen and heard anyhow. Automatics may be diff. but i doubt it, i corrected my speedo by changing the drive gear on the tranny(t-5) so this may not help you but i got mine dead on!!

I second the speedcal thing, i bought one for mine, didn't use it so i sold it to my bud with 3.73's you go to DM website and get the calibrations for your car if you ever change gears etc.

Don't trust them to calibrate it correctly though. I gave them all the specs on mine when I ordered it and they still set it up wrong so just make sure to re-check it yourself before installing it.
