speedo gear help

was wondering if any one knows how far the speedo gear in the trans should be visible-my speedo is not working and works if i hook it up to a drill at trans and spin cable the speedo works--the gear inside the trans is visible but it looks like it may have slipped down and only half of is it showing- really dont want to drop trans a 3rd time to fix speedo gear--thanks for helpin --

the gear should be all the way inside the housing.

thanks for the pic mustang5l5 it has definelty slipped down, i only see about a quarter of the yellow gear in the trans--i tried to get it back into place but it wont budge-thanks again
