Does anyone know how to install the white 23 tooth speedometer gear? I heard it only takes like 15 minutes to install and its easy to do but I have no idea where to even begin. Anyone have instructions or has installed it before? Thanks.

Takes longer to get under the car then it does to change out. One bolt and a clip around the gear that just pulls off is all you have to do. You will see the line going to the driver's side of the trans. You'll see one bolt, loosen that and the gear will pull out and take the metal clip off and install the new one, put the clip back on and tighten the bolt back up.

The wheel size doesn't matter if you have stock-height tires. If your 18" combo is the same overall height as the stock 16" or 17" combo, then it should be the right gear I think. I know the one I used was white. Either 22 or 23 teeth, but it's been a while since I even saw it.

I dont like that 23t gear. I chewed one up in 3 days. And you cant get it right for 3.73's. The 23t is correct for 3.55's. I would recommend you pull the tail shaft....get a 7t or 6t drive gear and then get the appropriate driven gear. Parts will cost about 30 bux (for drive and driven gears and tranny fluid) but the install is labor intensive (you have to pull the tailshaft housing on the tranny) theres guys that have done a write up on it here. I know I used one of their writeups to do my install. Thats the right way of doing it and it will be problem free...w/ that 23t gear you wont be right and you will constantly have to worry about the gear being chewed up.

You basically have to:
1. Drain the tranny
2. Pull the DS
3. Remove trans cross member
4. Remove shiftboot and shifter
5. Use a punch to remove a dowl pin (inside the tranny right below the shifter)

6. Unbolt the tailshaft housing and remove it.
7. replace the speedo drive gear (slide old one off and new one on) and driven gear.

Now just reverse the steps. You dont have to pull the tranny off the car or anything.

Id rather have a speedo that is 5-6 mles off. But if I keep chewing up gears Ill keep that in mind.
