Speedo gear question. Need help.

Hey guys. I am getting a new rear axle tomorrow with a set of 3.73s installed because my stocker blew up. Anyhoo, I knew I needed a speedo gear to recalibrate it and match the gears. I ordered the Steeda red 21 tooth gear for 3.73s that they listed as the right one. Is there anything else I need to get the speedo to work properly? It doesn't have to be exact, just as long as it's as good as stock. I have an 87 GT with a stock T5, I know that matters. Any help will be appreciated.

PS: does anyone know how long it takes for an order to ship from Steeda? They didn't even give me a shipping method or price...

Yup,for 90 and older you need a 21 tooth gear,for 91 and newer 5.0's you need a 23 tooth gear.I put 373's in a month ago and didnt change the speedo gear,LOL the faster you go the more it is off.When I do 80mph,the speedo says 105 !! Tomorrow Im picking up my 93 lx,Its getting 410's,a tranny cooler,23 toothed speedo gear,and a rev limiter for the shift kit! I cant wait for my speedo to read correctly !!

Actually for a 1990 you need the 23 tooth gear and even then it is still off a little bit. The 23 tooth is actually for the 4.10's and a 8 tooth driven gear.
