Now if you really want to change the internal drive gear of your manual tranny you can match it according to the table below. Be aware that the 6 tooth will offer the most combos for numerically higher gear ratios and offer the greatest degree of accuracy. The 6 tooth gear selection table for a manual tranny is the first in the page.

thx for the info. next time i blow a tranny i will probably put a 6 tooth in what ever tranny i find to bolt into my car.

reviving this because it made my day, knowing that even though I just put in a 6 tooth black gear, my speedo will still be somewhat correct if I change to 3.73s from 4.10s which I plan to.

i couldnt find this in any sticky thread, it should be!

Any info on T-56

I did a T-56 conversion and it uses a gear for teh speedo, any clue what I need to use for 3.55s ?

Speedometer Gear Calculator

this is a more accurate way to me to tell what gear you need. I did this with my 4.30's and the speedo is only off by about 5mph because of the fact that no one makes a 22 tooth
