speedo gear ?

I got my 4.10's today,and was wondering what speedo gear/gears I need. I'm really trying not to have to tear apart the trans to replace the gear on the tailshaft. Ive heard you have to replace that and I heard that you don't. Any help would be great. Thanks

A 23 tooth speedo gear is as close as you can get it, but it still won't be accurate and they do wear down very quickly. I would suggest getting a speedcal. I ran around with a 23 tooth gear and 4.30s for a month and was tired of my speedo reading 5mph to high by only 45mph. I then put my stock speedo gear back in, bought a speedcal and it is dead on accurate. Couldn't be happier and it is very easy to install.

I agree with him...get a speedcal...it's about a 20 minute install and you can compensate perfectly for any gear or any size rear tire and make your speedo dead on...
