Well I have a 3.73 ratio and my speedo does not work. Ive tested and the cluster, cable, and speed sensor are all good. I bought the gear for the speed sensor from steeda.com and I still cant get it to work. I am thinking that it has to be the drive gear in the tailshaft of the transmission, but how do I know what size drive gear is already in it?? And how do you switch the gears out??

Well the transmission is reman'd...I forget by who. But anyway it seems like when I insert the speed sensor in the gears arents meshing. So according to your previous post I have a 8 tooth gear. But I just need the gears to mesh together. And I am not even sure that I have an 8 tooth gear because the tranny is reman'd

Yes, that;s who made the T-5 in 1990. After 1997, it was sold to Tremec and they now own the rights to it.

Anyway, take the speedo out and make sure the drive gear is centered in the hole like this.

Mine is a yellow 7-tooth. I beleive the 8-tooth is green

Well I cant really see any gear in there, unkless its a darker color gear that I just cant see. But has anyone ever taken the tailshaft off themselves?

The T5 tailshaft housing does not come off without removing the shifter and a pin from the shifter mechanism.
This may not be possible without removing the transmission.

A T5 service manual will show you where the pin is and give instructions for removing the tailshaft housing.
See TTC: Product Literature to download a FREE service manual for T5 or Tremec 3550/TKO
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

A little gasoline in a squirt bottle can be used to wash the gear off to see what color it is.
Don't use too much or you will thin the oil out so that it doesn't lubricate properly.
