OK, after swapping my toploader for a JW Performance C4 nice: ) I have realized that it has no gear for a speedo cable. Does anyone know if they offer a gear or is there another way of getting my speedo reading back?
Oh, this is what I have from JW themselves:
"Sorry we removed the gear and plugged it off. We usually do this because most racers don't run a mph gauge. I think you can find a kit to adapt the cable assembly. Unfortunatly, I am not sure where to get the setup."
Do I "just" need to return the speedo gear inside the C4 tailshaft housing? Must admit to ignorance on automatics; what part do I need? Is the gear cut directly on the output shaft? http://raceabilene.com/kelly/hotrod/images/trans/c4exp.gif
I know it just sits on the output shaft, should be accesible by removng the tailhousing. I don't remember if its pressed on or if it just slips on and has a clip or something to hold it in place.
