Hi All!
I just took my car out of the garage from the winter. Charged the battery and filled the tank up. Noticed on the way home that the speedometer, odometer and tripmeter weren't working. I have a Dallas mustang speedcal in my car. Any tips on what could be wrong.

Here is what i know.
Cig lighter is working, since my Sirius S50 is hooked up through this and working fine. So shouldn't be a fuse.
Checked all fuses - good
Verifed that the speedcal has power to it. - Cont tester.
I took the shifter assembly off and all the wires are still hooked up correctly, no splits or cut wires.
Jacked up the car and verified its still firmly connected to trans.
Update - Used the "Guide to odometer gear replacement" post, took apart gauge to find that my gear is just fine. Turns fine by hand, and no teeth missing...bummer!
So my speedometer doesn't work, nor the odometer or tripometer. What controls all three? VSS?
Could the little motor that turns all three have gone bad? Is there a why to test it?

Thanks
Mark

All fixed! :nice:
I took the gauge cluster apart, cleaned everything, cleaned the gears of anything I saw, etc. Put everything back together and now everything works again. Not sure what I did, but speedo, odometer and tripometer are all working now! Thanks to that odometer gear replacment post!

Thanks
Mark
