I have a 93 and my 140 mph speedometer started going nuts on me. A friend gave me a stock 85 mph and said I could try it. Just as we expected it works like an 85 mph one in a 140 mph speedo. (reading way fast) Is there another gear I can put in the tranny that will slow it down to work in the 140?

WHat exactly did you swap?

No there isn't a gear. The calibration is all done in the speedo itself.

Did you just swap the speedo machanism and leave the face?

From what you're saying, I'm going to assume you put the 140mph face on an 85mph speedo.

No, there is no speedometer drive/driven gear combination that will get an 85 mph speedometer to work with a 140 mph face. You have to get a new 140 speedo, or put the 85 mph face back on the one you have now.

Thanks. I thought as much. I bought the car with the 140 in it. Got the 85 from a friend that was already apart. He thought it was an 85 mph but wasn't sure. Now we know. Anyone know where I can get a 140?

ebay.

Or you can send that 85MPH speedo in and have it recalibrated from Brothers performance warehouse
