I just got a mac cold air, new pulleys, 3.73 gears and 7.5 racing differential, and a diablo stage II sport chip put on...im amazed at the difference all that made. However, my speedomoter is out of balance now, i think its around 10mph over what im really going. Does anyone know what that part is i need to get to tune the mph with the gears? Thanks guys.

Do you have a pre 99 cause the chip should have been adjusted for your speedo if not. Anyways I don't think it will be perfect anyways, I have the speedo gear in my 98 and I think my shows a bit faster by 5 to 7 km/h(I'm canadian).

Thanks for the advice, i have a 1998 v6 stang 5 speed...the diablo chip has a switch which gives me 3 settings; i can tell a noticable difference when switched to the highest setting...seems to be a good chip to me. I have the 3.73 gears so you think my speed will be about 5mph off? thanks again!

This kind of thing seems to be addictive! What else out of curiosity could I do that would up hp/torque? accel? etc..realistically it would probably be best if i just sold it in the future and got a cobra, but for now i cant stop doing things to it :bang:

You could get dual exhaust to up your hp a little. Also, a short throw shifter although it would not add hp would make your shifter feel a lot better and make it easier to shift quickly without worrying about missing a gear.

Yea i have dual exhaust however i think its just straight on back to the catalytic converters - the mechanic that installed my equipment said somethign about an x or y pipe configuration? would that do anything? Yea i was thinking about the shifter, however im broke now so this is purely for future reference. what about headers? would that help any?

From the factory you have two pipes that come off of your back Cats and go into a y-pipe so that the two pipes come together to form one pipe that goes back to your stock muffler. Some people install an x- or h- pipe to convert to dual exhaust so that it flows a little better. Also, some people just get another y-pipe to connect to the factory one so it makes a kind of x-pipe from the 2 y-s. The x- or h- pipe is a little better flowing than the 2 y-pipes so you might get a little more hp at top-end witht that setup.

As far as headers, I know that theydont help power at all on 99+ v6s unless you have forced induction. I'm not sure how much they would help on a 98.

yea that sounds right; they just cut the pipe from the factory and made two out the back..works for me :) I think ill just focus on aesthetics now. I have cobra-r replica rims however they were eaten up at college b/c of all the snow/ice we get. The roads are covered in salt which consequently ate my rims to hell. I figure ill use them for winter driving and hopefully get a new set for spring/summer. I havent been able to find a set of the same size rims for a good price anywhere (17x9 with 245/45/17 tires). Know of any good sites that sell used rims? THanks guys.
