Ok, springs here and Im ready for some mods. I got about $1000 and am not sure what to get. Mods are listed in sig. I want some go fast parts that are gonna help me out at the track. Ive been looking at nitrous but I still get a little scared when I think about it. What else could I do staying away from that, that I will be able to notice.

get some Ford C-springs $150. good for the track, will lower the car an inch. Then i'd recommend some Gears (get 4.10s if you like the track...about $250 for all the parts and oil + another $250 for install). Then i'd recommend an MGW Short Shifter ($180). And that would leave you with a few bucks left over to spend where you like. And it would be a good start.

If you are going to do all your work yourself, which im guessing you wont...i might have recommended some Stage 1 cams, along with everything i said above. The money you would have saved on paying labor would have bought you the cams.

he already has 4.10s.

I'd look into LCA's, Plenum/TB, Cams (cams alone + install, there's your $1k and then some) or Longtubes. You could get any combo of LT's, LCAs and TB/Plenum (2 of the 3, all 3 if you got cheaper stuff) but cams its either all or nothing.

You're about where Im at in modding and Im stuck in a rut too. Not sure if I want to throw more money at the stang just so I can run low 13s, or put it back to stock and buy a Mach 1 (the exhaust and gears will swap over, the rest I'd sell.)

Its a tough call, save a few grand for a blower or cut your losses and uprgrade to a better starting platform. I know the Mach would be another money pit, any car I buy would. But instead of spending a lot of money to go 12s, Id spend a lot to go 11s.

you have run into my problem.. i just cant justify 5 to 600 dollars for these parts/installing them just to go .1-.3 seconds faster. i guess its all part of the game, and selling/ buying a new stang is just out of the question. period.

This is the thing too I can order a new 06 GT in December for my early grad present but im not sure if I like the new body style. I wont get a mach because if i still realy want to crank up the hp im gonna have to fordge it, same with the new GT. This leaves me with 03-04 Cobra only problem insurance and for some reason Im an auto fan. Its not that I cant drive manual, I can drive better than prolly 90% of the kids at my school and Ive never even had one as a DD. Its just that where Im are located at the auto is much more of a pleasure to drive. I could save up and have my parents buy me an 03-04 and then put in an auto but then thats taking away from what that car is.

I would do a auto 03-04 cobra. a terminator backed with a good auto is excellent for drag racing.

If you can install them yourself, you could do some VT Stage 2 cams and valvesprings, get a tune and then save the rest of your money

He is right. For 1 grand, this is your best acceleration mod at this point.
