Spinning only one wheel with slicks?! :(

Hi guys.

Just got back from the track with a decent time (13.25 @ 104.8 mph). The car only has 15 000 miles and has never seen the track before. Something really worries me.

- If I dump at 5000+ RPM to heat them up, everything's ok. Both wheels are spinning.
- When I lightly press on the brakes pedal, it barely spins both wheels. Sometimes, only one wheel keeps spinning.
- As both slicks become warmer, the driver's side stops spinning. :( It's really sticky tough... The car almost stalls.

Is it normal? I have to press more and more on the brakes so it could explain one wheel locking.

Most of the time, everything's ok. Both wheels spin very good on street tires and cold to decently warm slicks. The only problem is on hot slicks when pressing on the brakes pedal.

Do you guys think the clutch is on its way or if there's still alot to go?

your going to eventually break something in the stock rearend when running slicks. I would go for a 31spine posi setup. the Auburn ECTED looks pretty cool. its a electronic posi. normal operation its a limited slip, then just push a button and it turns into a locker. I would get one if I had the money. if you want to go cheap, you can just go with a regular 31spine diff/axles, and keep replacing the clutchpacks when they wear out

What is the average price for a 31 spine posi setup (not installed) and how much time can it take in semi-professionnal hands?

yeah this is normal these cars don't have a full locker in them it's just a clutch T-lok. it will slip with the brakes on with slicks. hell i can one wheel peel witht he brakes on with street tires.

what may help on the stock clutch t-lok setup is too drain the fluid and refill with very little friction modifer. then install the s spring from a f-150 with the 8.8 rear.

you may get a little clicking around very tight corners. but you wil have very good t-lok.

this is a very nice setup if you do go witha aftermarket axles and diff

no not yet but i have heard of some people with it and they love it.

31 splines is the way too go with slicks even if you don't go with the switchable locker.
