In another thread they said to disconnect the spout connector to reset to original timing, which could be a problem in robbing his car of power.

I tried this today, went for a drive, and about 3600 rpm it bogged down. Is this normal? Or does this show that something else is wrong?

I was just wondering.

Thanks for any and all help in advance,
Kevin R.

Could use some more background. . .

Did you remove the spout connector, then re-set the timing to 10*, and then re-connect the spout connector?

Or did you just take it out?

If you just took it out, the computer wouldn't be able to advance the timing for the higher RPM, hence, your bogging.

it sounds like the SPOUT was not replaced and it is running out of advance.

Got ya. I just saw in another thread where the guys car was slower than usual, sounded like mine. What is removing the spout connector supposed to show you?

it separates the computer from the timing, so you can see the base timing (with no advance). this is the only way to accurately (and repeatedly) set base timing.
