Spring Compressing tool

Autozone will loan you one for free. You just have to leave a security deposit that you get back when you return it. Unless for some reason you plan on needing one often enough to buy your own.

Is there a specific spring compressor that I should ask for when renting from autozone or will they know which one I need from telling them which car I have?

Is there anywhere else that may have a spring compressor available. I had called autozone yesterday and they said they had them. Went today and they didn't even know what I was talking about. :bang: :bang:and didn't have them. I wanted to do my cam install tomorrow, but now I don't have anything to compress my springs.

The problem with renting one is that they may not have one that works on a mod motor head. Notice in the picture at your link that the spring compressor has an odd shape. Its that way for a reason.

I'm planning on buying one and then selling it when I'm done with it.

Thats what the problem ended up being at autozone. They only had compressors for OHV motors.
