Spring Isolators. Leave in or out?

Getting some Eibach Pro Kit springs installed next week and have some questions.

1. Are there isolators on both top and bottom? Can the stock ones be reused?
2. How much drop difference per isolator. I heard is was 1/2". Is that for taking out just one or both.
3. If I do take them out, will I get a much rougher and noisier ride?............( noisier? spelling)
4. Are after market isolators bigger then stock or worth it?

I guess my main concern is ride quality. Sorry for all the questions, but my brian got flodded with them while I wrote this.

I reused my stock Isolators. I suggest you use some. Otherwise they will start to make noise. Maybe not right away but they will.
Seems most people get an additional 1/2inch drop without them personally not worth it.
Can't offer an answer on aftermarket ones though.

It would be Ideal to get new spring isolators, but you can re-use the stock ones, taking them out would be a bad idea, it would make a great deal of noise and the springs might not fit right without them, I have the Pro Kit and the stock isolators are fine

i used urethane isolator replacements with my HR race. looking at them removing both top and bottom (there is a top and bottom on front and rear) isolators it should result in about another 1/2inch drop.

the isolators i used were pretty beefy when i looked at the stockers... the stock ones looked seriously ragged and compressed... so i prolly lost 1/4" or so by using the urethane over stock. personally ride height was NOT my concern, the stiffer springs were what i was wanting along with ground clearance (lots of speed bumps) that i can not justify losing.

i have been told that urethane isolators will increase vibration... i hav not noticed any more over stock. so either reuse the old (i didnt want to) or get new ones... your call really.

Don't leave them out. There's good reason for them to be there in the first place.

I used energy suspension graphite impregnated Polyurethane isolators when I dropped my car. They are a tad bit thinner then the stockers so it ads a bit of an extra drop but still keeps a decent ride, doesn't create any extra unwanted noise such as creeks, squeeks, thunks, clunks, dings and dangs.

i took it out. But i think i'mputting it back on when i change my spring from sportline to C spring. too low look nice, but you loose too much of driveability

I took mine out in the front and replaced the bottom with some 1/16" thick walled rubber hose, and replaced the tops with two layers of neoprene sheet. I have the front taken apart now, and they show little wear after 4000 miles of driving, and I had no spring-related front end noise.

1. Both, yes.
2. Depending on how bad your isolators worn out, they usually total a half inch.
3. It's metal to metal contact. Even if they'er rubber insulated you'll still get noise.
4. Nope, and they won't wear down as bad.

Ride quality is something you have to sacrifice when you choose a stiffer spring, the Pro Kit isn't as bad but not as good as stock.

I will be leaving the isolators in after reading these inputs. The car only has 31,000 miles, so hopefully they won't be that bad.
