Spring problems...

Hey ya'll I've got a problem on my 68 fastback. It has 1" lowering springs all around- 620# from NPD and 5 leafs out back. The front springs lowered it about 2" instead of 1"and the tires are rubbing. I can barely stick the end of my pinky between the fender lip and tire. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Higher quality springs? thanks

Oh, and a little background info- My dad drove it when he was at Texas A&M, stored it for 18 years and gave it to me so we could do a father/son resto. Fastforward 5 years later.. it's 95% done. I'm at A&M now, so I don't get to work on it besides summer and winter breaks. Paint is by Randy Borcherding (who has painted several show winning cars), all else was done by my father and I. My 95 GT details are in my sig.

thanks again, Wade

You can get Polyurethane Coil Spring Insulator Pads in different heights. I believe you can get 1/4", 1/2" and 1" pads. That way you could raise your front end exactly to your needs.

Here's a link to some at Mustangs Plus with 1/4" & 1", but if you search around, I'm sure you can find the 1/2" ones. Or you could just get the 1" pads and machine them down.
